We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of musical experience. There is no requirement to read music as we learn everything by ear. You’re welcome to come anytime for a free session to try us out, but as we learn everything by rote, if you want to join you need to enroll in the first two weeks of term.
Joining the choir is easy. The only things we need in order to confirm your membership are your completed joining form and your term fee (and a one off GiftAid form if you make a donation). Forms are sent by email.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
We want the choir to feel like a real community, whilst also making sure that we do ourselves proud by learning and performing to the best of our ability. In order to do this we need everyone to:
- Come to a minimum of 7 out of 10 rehearsals and let us know in advance if you can’t make a rehearsal or a concert. But make every effort to be at the end of term concert.
- So that we have maximum time for singing, please try to arrive 10 minutes before the rehearsal is due to start. Obviously, sometimes there will be very good reasons for being late – just let us know in advance.
- Sign up to the washing up rota if possible.
TIME AND PLACE OF REHEARSALS
The choir meets for ten-week terms during the school year, with breaks during half-term. At the end of each term there is a performance, venues vary but are usually local to Maida Vale/North Paddington/Kensal Green.
We meet Tuesday evenings 7 – 9pm at Paddington Academy
Adult (18+) – £30
Concession (under 18; student; retired; receiving benefits) – £18
Family (must include at least 1 child; maximum 4 people) – £40
Please talk to Myriam Lugon if you will have difficulty paying the term fee, or indicate on your joining form if you are able to pay more to help support the choir.
